Bio by Bia

My name is Beatriz Provasi, born Beatriz Diogo Tavares, in Niterói/RJ, Brazil, 1981. My friends call me just Bia. I am a passionate UI/UX and web designer, having expressed my creativity in the art field for many years before that, being also a performer, poet, actress, and art researcher.

My education includes an Academy Profession degree in Graphic Design and UI/UX from Københavns Erhvervsakademi (KEA, 2024), a PhD degree in Literature, Culture and Contemporaneity from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio, 2018), a Master in Visual Arts from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ, 2014), a Bachelor in Cinema from Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF, 2006), and an undergraduate course in Performing Arts at Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO, 2008-2011).

As a UI/UX and web designer, I have experience with usability tests, wireframes, mockups, interactive prototypes, and final designs, with special passion about Figma-prototyping. With great graphic experience, a strong aesthetic sense, a background in art, and a natural inclination towards technology, I seek to create digital experiences that captivate and excite users by understanding their needs and desires, creating user-friendly, conversion optimized, and responsive designs.

As an artist, I am a multi-artist crossing several fields, but from a constant worldview. With an interdisciplinary background and an interest in hybrid forms and expanded fields, I develop works at the intersection of performance, literature, and visual arts. I investigate relations between art and politics, from feminist, decolonial, and anarchist perspectives, focusing on collective processes of creation and actions in public spaces. My exploration crosses cities, in migrations, wanderings, and nomadisms. I also maintain continuous research on body and poetry.

Besides that, I am a member of the performance collectives Acocoré - Arte, Coletivos, Conexões e Redes (Art, Collectives, Connections and Networks), Atrizes ou... (Actresses or...), and the poetry group Madame Kaos. As an author, I have published four poetry books, papers in academic journals, my PhD thesis, and poems in poetry anthologies.

Currently, I live in Copenhagen, Denmark, where I started my career as a visiting researcher, first at the Department of Arts and Cultural Studies (2016-2018), and next at the Center for Latin American Studies (2019-2020), at the University of Copenhagen. I have worked as a Portuguese teacher for the association Brasileirinhos.dk since 2017. And now I work also as a UI/UX designer for a Danish tech company.
